Biography
Brian Hertz is a musician in the New York City area. He works as a pianist, music director/conductor, vocal coach, arranger, and singer. Currenly, Brian is playing Keyboard 2 at Broadway's Legally Blonde, the Musical through July, where he is also an Assistant Conductor. He works as a sub conductor at Avenue Q, as well as the off-Broadway show Altar Boyz, and subs on keyboards at The Little Mermaid, Xanadu, and Les Miserables (now closed). Throughout this past holiday season, Brian played piano in the orchestra for the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall.

Brian regularly accompanies for Broadway rehearsals and auditions, as well as classes, workshops, and voice lessons in Manhattan and on Long Island. He also provides coachings and other musical services such as transcribing and arranging. He works or has worked as a pianist for the Long Island Philharmonic Chorus, the Long Island Choral Festival and Institute, the annual North American Children's Chorale at Carnegie Hall, Mid-America Productions, the annual Choral Music Experience workshop at Ithaca College, and as a young artist at the Opera Festival of New Jersey.

Brian has conducted two productions (Sammy & Me and The Wiz) at the Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, New York, and was the Associate Conductor for the national touring production of Leonard Bernstein's Wonderful Town. Before starting professional work in musical theater, he taught chorus and general music for three years in Syosset Central School District on Long Island. Brian holds a B.M. in Voice / Music Education and an M.M. in Musical Theater / Opera Conducting from Ithaca College.

Brian Hertz is a member of the Associated Musicians of Greater New York, Local 802 of the American Federation of Musicians.
